The Dayara Bugyal Trek is a trekking expedition in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, renowned for its expansive alpine meadows and breathtaking vistas. Situated at an elevation ranging from 3,408 to 3,658 meters, Dayara Bugyal is one of the most stunning high-altitude meadows in the Garhwal region. The trek commences from the picturesque village of Barsu, leading adventurers through dense forests of oak and rhododendron, gradually opening up to the vast expanse of Dayara Bugyal. The meadows, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, come alive with vibrant wildflowers during the summer months, creating a carpet of colors against the backdrop of the Himalayan landscape. The trek offers panoramic views of prominent peaks like Bandarpoonch, Draupadi Ka Danda, and Shrikhand Mahadev. Whether it's the lush greenery during the warmer seasons or the snow-covered wonderland in winter, the Dayara Bugyal Trek provides an enchanting experience for nature lovers and trekking enthusiasts alike.

Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Dehradun to Natin (8530 ft) (200 km Drive)

    • Pick up from Dehradun Railway station at 7.30 AM
    • Drive to Raithal via Uttarkashi
    • Arrive at Natin village, a small village located 30 km above the city of Uttarkashi which serves as the starting point of the trek. Stay at the homestay in Natin.
    • A quick introduction & briefing session with the trek leader and fellow travelers.
    • Dinner and rest at the homestay.

  • Day 2 : Natin to Gui( 9500 ft) (5 km, 6-7 hours trek)

    • The day will start with a group ice-breaking session and Breakfast will be served.
    • Afterward, we'll take an uphill short trek of 5 KM through the Oak Forest in order to reach Campsite.
    • On arrival at Gui Campsite, Lunch will be served.
    • The lunch will be followed by an acclimatization walk and evening snacks will be served.
    • Overnight stay at camps.

  • Day 3 : Gui to Dayara Bugyal Top (12100 Ft) back to Gui (12 Km)

    • Post breakfast, we'll head out for trekking to Dayara Bugyal.
    • On arrival, we'll have a packed lunch at Dayara viewpoint.
    • After sightseeing, we'll descend back to the Gui campsite.
    • On arrival at Gui Campsite, we'll have dinner and end the day.

  • Day 4 : Gui to Dehradun | Descend Back to Dehradun

    • Gui to Raithal, Drive to Dehradun, 235Km Drive
    • Descend back to Raithal village from Gui after breakfast on a 5 km descend the trail
    • A 235 km drive back to Dehradun from Raithal village passing through Uttarkashi
    • Lunch and evening snacks during transport will be provided on the road side inns.
    • The expected time of arrival in Dehradun will be 7:30 to 8:00 PM . So you can plan your travel further accordingly.

Inclusions/Exclusions

  • Inclusions

    • Transport to and from the base camp

    • First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.

    • Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accommodation and separate accommodation for girls/ladies will be provided

    • All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.

    • Permits/ Forest fees

    • Qualified trek leaders having advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees

    • Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.

    • GST extra.

    • Food during transit to and from the base camp

    • Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.

    • Generally, we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay extra.

    • Any kind of personal expenses.

    • Anything not mentioned in inclusions.

    • Any kind of transportation/ accommodation apart from mention in package.

    • Coverage includes medical expenses, emergency evacuation, hospitalization, and rescue expenses.

Things To Carry

Warm clothes (fleece jacket, thermal innerwear, gloves, and cap)

Raincoat or poncho

Comfortable trekking shoes with good grip

Backpack (30-40 liters) with rain cover

Water bottle (2 liters)

Snacks (energy bars, chocolates, and dry fruits)

Personal toiletries (toilet paper, sunscreen, and lip balm)

First aid kit (with medicines for altitude sickness, pain relief, and bandages)

Important Note

  • Avoid consuming heavy meals or alcoholic beverages during the trekking.

  • The sport is not advisable for individuals with the medical conditions like recent fractures, dislocations, high blood pressure, asthma, neurological disorders, epilepsy, heart problems, pregnancy, and osteoporosis.

  • Give careful attention to the trek guide/ leader instructions.
